What is it?

What is this feeling we get when we do something where we truly don’t know the outcome? The feeling we get when we embark on a new chapter in our lives. When a loop you were in for so long has finally finished.

What is it?

That feeling we get when we’re about to take our first steps in a different direction, to explore somewhere or someone we don’t yet know. That feeling of excitement mixed in with a dash of nervousness. The one we get on the start of a new trip, a job we always wanted, or a relationship that’s going to well.

What is this feeling?

Is it an accomplishment? Satisfaction? Pride?

I don’t think so.

I don’t think that these words truly describe how you feel when you’ve gathered the courage to step outside your comfort zone. To see the world as it is, and not what you want it to be.

That feeling when you’ve done it. You’ve packed your bags, cleaned yourself up, and left an unhappy relationship. That feeling when you’ve decided to change an aspect of your life that you’ve been needlessly holding on to. When you’ve taken the first step in a direction that will alter the course of your life forever.

That’s the feeling of adventure. That’s the feeling we all should be chasing, the feeling where you know you’re not comfortable, your emotions are running wild with thoughts of what could happen, what might happen, the if’s the and’s and buts…. But if you’re honest with yourself, you really can’t even imagine it. You can’t imagine how it will turn out, how things will actually be in the long run Because you’ve never done it, you’re going into uncharted seas. You’re learning more about the world, and yourself, in a way you’ve never explored before.

You’re growing, you’re getting stronger. You’re having an adventure. Chase it, Love it, and most importantly, learn from it. You can only go up from here.
